01' s10 pickup rear shock installation problem

trying to install rear shocks. Soak the nuts in PB BLASTER nite before..was easy to take off today, but for some reason the shock didn't slide off the bottom bolt like the directions said. I'm kinda shook when i started pullling on it cuz truck shakes and the rubber was coming from underneath it(i guess its rubber between the bottom hole)...WHAT DO I DO?? may be a dumb question but got "jeypt" at a car mechanic once and refuse to go back...is it seized and i need to pry it...Let me know, somebody.
