Chevrolet-S10 Blazer - Fuel pump module

A friend of mine has a 97 S10 Blazer and the fuel pump is only putting out 45 pounds of pressure. He was told that that his Fuel pump module is bad and it needs to be replaced. The cost he is getting quoted is between $750.00 and $1000.00. I have pulled a few motors on English cars and rebuilt them. I consider myself fairly handy and I have all of the tools. Am I kidding myself on thinking that I can do this for him? Thanks for your help. Tom

no the fuel pump is fairly easy to replace just be sure to drain your gas before attempting this repair and spray all bolts with lube

I agree with Ronald. There are already sites that provide free DIY guide like that of fuel pump replacement. Below is a link that might help you find the parts that you need.
