how to correctly lower a 1970 el camino

I'm going for 3" drop springs in the rear, and 1" drop springs in front, with 2" dropped spindles. Can any one tell me if this is good? I would like to bag it, but i'm going on a budget. I have oldschool 15" cragers and would like to put some 17" and or 18"s soon. any info would be great. Thanx
