I have flashers (4ways) but no turn signals. What could be my problem? Also I found what I believe to be a turn signal flasher 2 prongs laying on the fuse tray, could not find where it plugs into. Can you please send me diagrams on this? I bought the Haynes Repair Book but diagrams are to small to read. I really need help with this problem. Thank you very much for your time and effort. My Cavelier is a 1992.

You might try the Library near you. Ours has a Mitchell's online Library that we can use. Costs nothing to view, but the Library charges 50 cents per page to print anything.

I have a 1990 4door caviler and i dont know what is wrong. The head lights fuse blew, the dash lights fuse blew, and the raido still does not work at all. Wipers do as they please when they please. Does anyone have any thign that might help me out here. I am in Nebrasks and the car is in Arizona. I need to figure something out to help the problem. If you know where i can or who can help fix this at a small price that would be great.

I purchased a 2002 cavalier cd/cassett sterio from a junk yard. I am looking for a wireing diagram for it. I plan to install it on a boat. Does this unit need a remote amp? I think I have the speaker wires ID'ed but I'm left with the following colers. Orange-light guage & heavy guage; Black- Light & heavy guage: Gray; White;Blue; Pink. I also have a set of sheilded wires, Blake with a white tracer & Green with a white tracer.

Where is the horn relay for a 1997 Chev Cavalier ... some say on the firewall on the inside of the car just above the brake pedal, others say it's on the passenger side under the glove box, and still others say its in other relay black box behind the battery in the engine compartment ... so where is it exactly ???

The following wires are listed below:

red - power make sure line has fuse

yellow - ACC mode

black wire - ground, main

white lines are ground wires

2 Green solid/white line - speaker wire

2 purple solid/white line - speaker wires

2 white solid/white line - speaker wire

2 grey wires solid/white line - speaker wire

blue wire - remote wire

blue wire white line - illimunation

orange wire - not sure??

That should be it.

Hello: I have a 1995 Chevy Cavalier, two door. It is a 3.4 engine. The windows will not roll down because of the wiring. Getting kinda hot in there. Is there any way to wire them and use a different kind of switch. My daughters boyfriend kinda messed things up. With my tester I can find the hot wire, and when I touch it on a black wire it causes a spark. Not good. But what can I do to get them to work and maybe rig a different switch?

Hi I have a 98 cavalier z24...when I turn on my bright lights, they are actually dimmer then my normal lights. Also when I turn on my fog lights, the switch says they are on, but they really arent. I have put in all new bulbs...what should I do next. I was thinkin i had a bad ground or sumthing? If anyone has a ground wire diagram, please send to me. Thanks

please help!!! I bought my 2000 cavalier a few years ago and it had an aftermarket stereo (junkie) already installed. A few wks ago sum1 stole the junkie radio and i would like to install a new one, problem is, either my black ground wire is faded and looks purple or it has been rewired in some way. I read on other posts that to install an aftermarket stereo on the cavalier without completely losing the chimes, lights, etc this had to be done however i am completely lost on how to install the new one. looks like a blue and a red wire are coming from a source different from the rest of the wires so im guessing these are the new wires. Please help!

Hey Trish I have the same problem related to a cigarette lighter issue... mine is a 1997... have you found a solution? The thing makes me real nervous. I'm trying to disable the SIR system BUT cannot find which fuse to pull to do so. According to my Haynes manual the steps are to disconnect the negative cable on the battery, then pull the fuse from the fuse block, then disconnect both the drivers side and passenger side "Connector Assurance Position" conections. But I can't find the fuse the book says exists... it says to look in the owners manual... no info there either. Of course nothing's labeled so it's impossible to know which fuse in the fuse block is responsible for the SIR System. Everywhere I go on the internet for some clues it always says to refer to Disabling the SIR System... It must be a one heck of a book... round and round I go... Grrrrr. I feel like I have a ticking timebomb in my car... It's a convertible and yes it may have gotten damp inside (which can possibly set the airbags off unexpectedly). I hope someone can tell me which fuse to pull and where.

I have a 2005 Cavalier with problems. The speedometer sometimes is buried, other times it is 5, 10, 20 mph off. I gauge my speed by tach reading.

 

And the gas gauge sometimes goes beyond; blocking the temp gauge and sometimes varies on how far it is off. I gauge by the mileage.

 

Can I use the 38016 catalog for Cavaliers 1995-2004 for its wiring diagram?

 

What did you find out?

I have a 1990 Suburban that has lost power to the radio and the cig. lighter. There is no fuse for it in the fuse box. The original manual does not list one either. I tested all the fuses with a light, all is good. I also tested the radio for power, and no power there either. Anyone have any idea where the fuse is???

im installing alpine type R's in my car ((6x9's)) and i was told to split the Tweeter cord, (theres 3 wires, i split it right))

and the cavilier stero wiring has 4 wires for the back, +/- tweeter/woofer

I turn on my car and my headlights flash repeatly and stop when i turn them to the on position my lights well not turn on at all.

I have a 2003 chevy cavalier, the factory cd player will not read cd's if I can get someone to hook up a new one to it I'd be greatful...Or if someone has a diagram I can try it my self...I asked my husband, but like the guy above my post, he's being a duche and says I don't need a cd player.

Alexandria: The turn signal flasher is located above the brake pedal about 10 inches in toward the driver. It is neon green in color and has 5 prongs (terminals). It is about a 2" x 2" block.

Though you might also check the 10amp fuse labeled turn/b/u. If this fuse is blown , you have a short to ground somewhere. Hope this helps.

Pam: Check if both or one headlamp bulb is burnt out. The DRLs will flash repeatedly if any combination of dim or bright filaments are out.

Im trying to install a new cd player in my 04 cavalier ls. I have everything i need except for the harness?...i've been to a bunch of different stores. Advanced auto says they dont have them, walmart doesnt. And best buy says there could be two different kinds. I dont really want to pay 100 just for this piece and have it be the wrong one. I have a 2003 cavalier and the needle for the gas gauge keeps going way past full when I turn the car on. When I turn it off it doesn't go back to empty either. It has been hitting the temp gauge. Does any one know how this could be fixed or how much it might cost?

I have a '02 Cav, LS Sport Coupe, I had placed zenons in a couple of years ago and now they're no longer working, I replaced the relays and checked the fuses and am afraid it might be my control boxes...so I'm thinking of switching back to stock headlights can someone email me the wiring diagram for the lights...and/or the zenons if you have that?
