Chevrolet-Caprice - 1991 Caprice stalling problems

I have a 1991 Caprice that stalls at different times and then it might start immediately or it might take a day or two. I just replaced the fuel pump, the filter is new. I am certain it is a fuel problem cause it will run on starting fluid. So I was curious if anyone else had ever had a similar problem. Thanks, Eric

The fuel pump power goes through the oil pressure switch. The fuel pump will stop working if the oil pressure switch senses or thinks it has less than 4 psi pressure. This is designed so that if you loss oil pressure, the fuel pump will stop, engine will shut off, and the engine is saved.I just had to replace my oil pressure switch because the switch shorted and kept the fuel pump on continuously, causing the battery to go dead. The second switch also became defective and caused the car to stall at lights, since the pressure switch thought the pressure was below the 4 psi. Hope this helps. My car is a 1991 Caprice.
