why in the world would you change to carb, the Fuel injection on those trucks are extremly simple and much more efficeint, the only thing that tends to go bad on them is the gasket.

Seriously, what would make you do that, the fuel injection systems on those trucks are awesome, especially if you the 4.3 that truck kicks ass, it makes no sense to change it to carb...anyway good luck I guess, don't do it...

So my friend has an 89 S10/Blazer. It says its fuel injected. Why is there a carburator on it? Can you evan get it running if it is fuel injected but has a carburator on it? Help me out.

I have an 89 4wd and a 90 2wd and the 2wd is carbureted with a Mallory distributor and an MSD super coil. The 4.3 runs and sounds like a V8 with the Edelbrock intake and a 650 cfm carb on it. The only issues is making sure your torque converter locks and unlocks on its own.

To Patrick, You put a 96 motor in a 94? Are you crazy, you went from OBDI to OBDII, there in lies your problem, have you smoked your ecm yet? I hope you have your old motor yet, the start would be to take all the sensors off of that, and one by one put them on the new motor. The 94, 95, and 96 motors are all different (found that out when I blew the one in my 95.) Or you could go to painless wiring, see if they have a wiring kit, grab the ecm from the vehicle you got the motor from, and cross your fingers. Or you could just drop a 5.0 vortec in and get a painless harness, and be suprised at what mileage a larger motor gets. Thats what I did in my 92 Jimmy, gained 5 mpg.
