brake lights chevy pickup

I have a 98 Chevy pickup. The brake lights just stopped working. The truck has 2 separate fuses, both are fine. I found one relay labeled brake, it tests OK. The rest of the tail lights work fine just no brake lights. So I replaced the brake light switch, that did not fix the problem. Because the truck is airbag equiped I am unwilling to poke around the wiring harness too much.
